The majestic Baobab trees are native to Africa are are sometimes called
“upside-down” trees. They grow across
the African continent, and are most prevalent in the hotter & drier lower
altitudes. They live extremely long lives, upwards to 6,000 years by some
accounts. They bloom only once a year
and their blossoms open at night! From
these nocturnal flowers come nuts from which the thick, rich golden colored oil
is extracted.
I tried Baobab oil and loved it!
Baobab oil is extremely rich in antioxidants A, C, E and F to fight free
radicals and has 9 essential fatty acids - omegas 3,6 & 9, as well as
essential linoleic acid that are incredibly nourishing to skin. The oil absorbs quickly into skin without
leaving residue leaving skin smooth and silky.
It does not clog pores and is said to be calming to skin as well as
toning.
Oils that absorb well and are rich in nutrients are the best skin care.
For this reason Alki Organix’s Delicious
Skin – Extra Care Serum formula includes Baobab oil along with other wonderful
and nourishing oils like Tamanu and Avocado for skin in need of extra care. For
best absorption all oils are best applied after cleansing and exfoliating so
that the oil can be absorbed fully.
Is any one oil right for everyone? I don’t believe so, we are all
individual, and luckily nature provides an incredible bounty of them!
Which oils do you love?
